Teresa Whalen LeFevre is the vice president and manager of supplier diversity for Comerica Bank in Auburn Hills, Michigan. As vice president, Teresa identifies and facilitates the utilization of diverse suppliers to provide goods and services for the operation of the Bank in the communities that it serves and acts as Comerica’s liaison and representative to the minority and women’s business enterprise advocacy organizations on both a local and national level. Teresa also leads the procurement team’s sustainability efforts and assists in managing customer/vendor relationships.
Prior to joining Comerica, Teresa worked as a purchasing and supplier diversity manager for Federal Mogul Corporation. Her previous positions also include supplier diversity manager, buyer and training facilitator at Ford Motor Company and program administrator at Wayne State University.
Teresa holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and is a certified professional of supplier diversity (CPSD) through the Institute for Supply Management.
In 2013 Teresa was chosen for the President’s Award from the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council and the Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award from the Women’s Business Enterprise Council – Great Lakes. She currently serves as a board member for the Asia Pacific American Chamber of Commerce in Troy, the Dominican Literacy Center in Detroit, and for the Council of Supplier Diversity Professionals in Detroit and is an advisory board member for Net Impact headquartered in San Francisco.
Teresa resides in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan with her husband and two children.
